Bilawal abruptly leaves for Dubai after Zardari’s interview

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari abruptly left for Dubai on Friday.

Bilawal’s departure comes a day after his father and Co-chairman Asif Zardari told an interview that he was still training his son.

Bilawal left the country on a private flight, the duration or reason of his visit has not been disclosed.

Hours before leaving, Bilawal changed his profile picture on X to a photo with his mother, Benazir Bhutto.

Later, PPP Information Secretary Shazia Marri said that there were no connections between Asif Ali Zardari’s interview and his son’s abrupt departure.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the party chairman and he does not need to tell anyone about his travel plans, she told Aaj News.

Marri went on to add that the former foreign minister was on a personal visit to Dubai. Asif Zardari has also departed for Dubai, she said.

On Thursday, the former president said, “Bilawal is not completely trained and now we are training him,” in an interview with Hamid Mir on his show Capital Talk.

Zardari added that while Bilwal was more educated and spoke better than him, he was more experienced as a politician.

The co-chairman’s remarks seemingly came in response to Bilawal’s recent speeches where he called for old politicians to step aside and make way for new ones.
