Pakistan cricket team’s practice ran into an unexpected hurdle on Friday as dozens of young fans invaded the pitch to catch a glimpse of their favourite players.
The team has set up a training camp for its tour to Australia in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium where a new coaching staff is helping them prepare for a much-awaited series.
However, dozens of young cricketers who were in the stands suddenly breached security to enter the ground on Friday.
Chairman PCB Management Committee Zaka Ashraf and Chief Selector Wahab Riaz were also among the players when the incident happened.
In response, security staff and even Manager Naveed Cheema had to shake up the stumps to disperse the crowd.
The young men who stormed the ground said that they had been promised a meeting with the cricketers but had been deceived, prompting them to take matters into their own hands.
