Former Speaker Asad Qaiser said on Friday that it would be better issue a notification announcing Nawaz Sharif as prime minister instead of going into elections.
Qaiser made the remarks while talking to reporters after he was shifted to the DHQ Hospital in Charsadda. Doctors said Qaiser had pain in his throat and chest.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader said that free and fair elections were the need of the country and no one would accept elections if they were held in the current atmosphere.
He added that Nawaz was behind everything being done to the PTI and he should simply be notified as PM instead of going into election.
Qaiser was taken to the anti-terrorism court in Charsadda after his medical examination was completed.
The politician was arrested from outside Swabi jail after a regional bench of the Peshawar High Court had granted him bail in a corruption case.
