Tajikistan beat Pakistan by 6-1 in FIFA qualifier

Pakistan lost to Tajikistan 6-1 in their second match of the second round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

The match was played at Jinnah Stadium Islamabad on Tuesday, Tajikistan scored two goals against Pakistan in about five minutes.

Pakistan responded to Tajikistan’s lead in the 21st minute when Rahis Nabi scored a brilliant goal with his left foot to give the national team hope of getting back into the game.

However, in terms of team structure and off-the-ball movement, the Green Shirts did not have a good day as they did not have a midfield in the first half. Tajikistan took advantage of the same spaces and scored another brilliant goal in the 26th minute.

The problems for the home side did not end as the visitors scored another goal just before the half-time whistle to increase their lead to three goals and tighten their grip on the match.

In the second half, Pakistan suffered continuous losses and failed to keep the ball to them most of the time. In the 65th minute, Pakistan conceded another goal while the visiting team scored another goal before the final whistle.

In this one-sided match, Pakistan did not see anything positive in the whole match except Nabi’s brilliant game in the first half.

Earlier, Pakistan had lost to Saudi Arabia 4-0 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier match. In this way, the Pakistani team has so far conceded 10 goals in two matches while managing to score only one goal.
