COAS Munir hails operational efficiency of armed forces

Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has commended the verve, operational efficiency and professionalism of the troops that participated in the corps level collective training exercise of Strike Corps.

The COAS said this during a visit to the training exercise on Tuesday, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations. Earlier on arrival, the COAS was received by the Mangla Corps commander.

In a statement, the military’s media wing said that the exercise was aimed at validating offensive operational concepts.

COAS Munir saw the display of complex manoeuvres undertaken, led by armoured formation equipped with state-of-the-art VT-4 tanks. He met the troops participating in the exercise.

The army chief highlighted the importance of combat readiness and mental agility to respond to a multi-spectral threat paradigm. He dilated upon the significance of achieving synergy among various arms in view of the rapidly changing threat environment. He also appreciated the proficiency gained in night operations.

COAS reiterated that “only realistic, mission-oriented training in peacetime can guarantee excellence on the battlefield should the need arise.”

Earlier this month, the COAS met with leading Islamic scholars of all schools of thought at the GHQ.

“Pakistan belongs to all Pakistanis without any religious, provincial, tribal, linguistic, ethnic, sectarian or any other distinction,” he said during an interaction with them on November 17, 2023.

“Use of force and armed action by any militia, entity or group other than the state is unacceptable.”
