The rupee started off the week with an increase as it gained 53 paisas against the dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market on Monday.
The greenback was trading at Rs285.97 at the closing of the market, as against the closing of Rs286.5 on Friday.
In the open market, the buying of the dollar was recorded at Rs286.2 while it was quoted at Rs289 for selling at the time of filing the story.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange closed on a positive note as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 14.81 points, or 0.03% to reach 57,077.96 levels at the closing of the market on Monday.
The KSE-30 Index shed 68.43 points or 0.36% to reach 18,978.4 at the closing of the trading session.
