A pitch invader interrupted the World Cup final between India and Australia in Ahmedabad on Sunday with a pro-Palestine message.
The protestor was wearing a facemask painted in the colours of the Palestinian flag and was wearing a t-shirt that said ‘Stop Bombing Palestine’.
The back of the protestor’s shirt said ‘Free Palestine’.
The man, whose identity, has still not been revealed ran up to the pitch and hugged Virat Kohli. Security was then called to escort the man out.
The incident happened in the 14th over when India were 92-3. Kohli was 29 not out and standing at the non-striker’s end when the protestor approached him.
However, the broadcast only showed the protestor for a split second before switching to an overhead view of the stadium as security removed him.
