Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar once again reiterated his call to the Afghan Taliban government to take action against the Tehreek-e-Taliban.
In an interview with Geo News that is set to be telecast on Sunday, Kakar said that the Afghan Taliban would have to decide whether to hand the TTP over to Pakistan or effectively deal with them on their own.
The caretaker prime minister said that the TTP was mainly hiding in Afghanistan and not in the Central Asian States.
He also said that Afghan representatives had been involved in the ‘mock’ negotiations with TTP two years ago as well.
Kakar said that it was ‘unacceptable’ that the Afghan Taliban were choosing to sit on their hands while the TTP continued to use Afghan territory to attack Pakistan.
He also claimed that religious leaders had supported the government’s policy on TTP during a meeting with Army Chief General Asim Munir.
