At least 24 people have been detained and fined over Rs2.5 million in various Punjabi cities, including Lahore and Rawalpindi, for breaking the ‘one dish marriage policy’.
In accordance with the Punjab govt, caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi has put strict practical measures in place to guarantee that no more than one dish can be served during marriage ceremonies.
Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners conducted raids on marriage halls, sealing five of them, issuing warnings to numerous individuals, and arresting dozens of people.
Mohsin Naqvi gave the administration strict instructions to enforce the one dish policy and to take strict legal action against those who violate it.
