The Punjab government is likely to take tough decisions to tackle smog as Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called a meeting tomorrow(Wednesday) on the smog situation.
According to the sources, the proposal to close the markets for two days in a week will be considered as well as a proposal to close schools twice a week in view of smog will also be considered.
Meanwhile, the Transport Secretary will inform about the measures to limit the movement of vehicles.
Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued instructions to the Deputy Commissioners and said that the decision to ban the burning of crop residue should be strictly implemented and strict action should be taken against the tire-burning factories.
Mohsin Naqvi also directed the Secretary School Education to ensure masks in primary schools.
