Former Federal Minister Asad Umar has resigned from the basic membership of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and also announced to quit politics as well.
Asad Umar took his X handle to announce his separation from politics and said: “After more than one decade in public life, I have decided to completely quit politics.”
He refused to participate in the policy of confrontation with state institutions and wrote: “I am resigning from basic membership of PTI.”
Asad Umar has also changed his profile picture after disclosing his disunion with PTI.
Following his press conference on May 24 in which he condemned May 9 events and announced his resignation from party positions Umar had not indicated joining any other party, including the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party or the PTI Parliamentarians (PTI-P), which have been welcoming many PTI defectors to their folds.
