Babar Azam confident of team’s strategy to achieve required run rate

Skipper Babar Azam vowed to reach the semi-final and said they have a plan to chase target in 20 to30 over.

Addressing a press conference in India, the skipper said the team can obtain a net run rate as they have a plan in their mind, we will go after it.

“If Fakhar plays 20 or 30 over, then we can achieve this net run rate,” said Babar.

Babar Azam acknowledged that they did not play well as a team in any field; anything can happen in cricket, they will try to end the journey on a good note and they should win the match between Afghanistan and South Africa.“

He said, “Keep hoping for the best we will try to learn from mistakes, there is very little room for mistakes at this level.”

Captain also admitted that his performance was not good but he said: “It is not as bad as the people say that I am under pressure.”

Babar Azam said that if someone wants to give advice then everyone has the number, it is easy to sit and talk on TV. “I don’t think there is any pressure on me, the team is decided by the coaches and the captain, the best combination and we go with the best combination.”

He said that right now he is focusing on the next match, he will see the future of captaincy later.

He said, “My goal was to finish well as a batsman, I wanted to try to set victory and I will bat according to the situation.”

“We have come to India for the first time, we had no idea of the conditions, I believe we could not perform as per expectations,” he added.
