How would you respond to a public toilet? Except in this case, public does not mean it is set up for the general public’s use, but is instead openly visible to the public… because of being in the middle of a road.
A social media post triggered confusion in the public, with some hilarious responses forcing the adminsitration into action
The toilet in the middle of a road came to light when a handle on X (formally Twitter) shared a picture of Street 10 of sector I-9/2 of Islamabad where a commode was installed in the replacement of cover of sewer.
The picture raised the question of whether this was installed by residents or authorities and why it was on the road. Despite Islamabad being the capital of the country, the Capital Development Authority did not wake up before the post went viral.
Netizens were quick to point out the irony of Islamabad being called one of the world’s better capitals.
Some attributed this act to the development effort in Islamabad.
A user wrote sarcastically that the administration has finally installed public toilets.
Meanwhile, following the social media comments, the authorities finally fixed the issue.
