Karachi school-going children express solidarity with Palestinians

Thousands of school-going children in Karachi on Wednesday participated in the Jamaat-e-Islami’s Karachi Children March for Gaza to express solidarity with Palestinian children.

“These children are conveying a message to the Muslim world to unite and become one power. These children are told that nothing can be done for Pakistan. I say they will build Pakistan,” JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said during the march held at Shahrah-e-Quaideen of Karachi.

In a month, more than 5,000 Palestinian children have been killed in Israeli airstrikes, he said, adding that the children of Pakistan will fight for Palestinian children.

During the march, Rahman chanted the famous phrase of Palestinians “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, as the children chanted along with him expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

What are the Muslim armies doing, are they protecting their tanks and missiles? He asked.

“If the leaders of the Muslim countries are not capable of doing something, they should leave it to the children. They will do something for the Palestinians,” he said.

The JI chief said that the nation will never recognise Israel and will never bow to the pressure of the United States. “Israel is an occupying power which is killing innocent children to achieve its goals.”

The children participating in the march also donated their pocket money to the fund for the Palestinians.

In another instance, the journalist community in Karachi staged a march from Karachi Press Club to Sindh’s Governor House to express solidarity with Palestinians and journalists killed in Israeli airstrikes.

Secretary Crime Reporters Association Rehan Chishti said that Israel is targeting the journalists in an attempt to hide the truth and realities.

KPC Secretary Shoaib Ahmed called for holding Israel accountable for the killing of innocent Palestinians.

Women and children also participated in the march to show solidarity with the residents of the besieged strip while resolving that Israel will never be recognised as a state.
