Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Monday that everyone should have the right to participate in elections and PMLN is not going to send anyone to jail.
Rafique addressed a press conference after a key party meeting in the Lahore party office, which was visited by Nawaz Sharif after a gap of four years.
In a surprising change in the party stance on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the PMNL N leader said, ’’The ballot should have symbols of all parties.“
While talking to the media after attending an important party meeting with leaders, Saad Rafique said that preparations for elections have started as a series of meetings with political leaders is going on.
He refuted the news of the election deal as it was baseless.
Talking about Nawaz Sharif’s return, he questioned, “Should Nawaz Sharif spend the rest of his life in exile? He had to return. He went [outside the country] due to illness.”
He also said that the political issues of Sindh and Balochistan came under consideration during the meeting.
Saad Rafique refused to answer a question about the absence of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, a key party leader and former prime minister. Abbasi was also not seen at Nawaz Sharif’s Minar-e-Pakistan rally.
