PPP’s Ali Musa Gilani said that the impression was getting stronger that the PML-N has cut a deal for Nawaz Sharif’s return.
“PML-N should not give such an impression. Recently Hina Butt took credit for the reduction in the petrol price, which means that she owns the caretaker government and that it is their [PML-N] government,” he told Asma Shirazi on Faisla Aap Ka.
When asked a question regarding former PTI leader Farrukh Habib’s statement against PTI Chairman Imran Khan, he said that his body language of Habib was different from other former PTI leaders who did a press conference.
“The certainty in his body language showed that he was not pressurised. It was like he was convinced that he was used by Imran Khan,” he said.
On the upcoming elections, Gilani said that the PPP wanted the polls to be held soon and no political party should be barred from contesting elections.
PTI’s Shoaib Shaheen claimed that the government that comes to power through rigged elections and after political engineering would not be able to remain in power even for six months.
“All political parties need to move forward instead of focusing on the past. Pakistan will not be able to overcome its challenges if we make elections controversial by political engineering, abduct people and make them do press conferences and create kings parties,” he added.
PML-N’s Uzma Zahid Bukhari declined to comment on Habib’s statement against Imran Khan, saying that it was not up to her to say whether he passed the comments under duress or by his own choice.
Replying to Gilani’s statement, she said that the PML-N was blamed when the caretaker government increased the prices of petroleum products.
“The interim setup now slashed the prices on the back of the IMF programme which the coalition government secured,” he added.
