Jemima calls for donating to UNICEF’s appeal for Gaza children

Film producer Jemima Goldsmith has called for donating to the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) appeal for children in Gaza, as the death toll from Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip surged to at least 2,670 on Sunday.

She made the appeal in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. Jemima shared the message of Unicef spokesperson James Elder.

Jemima has announced that she was standing with the human beings on both sides of the border who were bearing the brunt of tensions between Israel and Palestine.

“Hundreds & hundreds of children have been killed and injured. Every hour in Gaza the number of children killed rises,” he said and demanded that the killing of children must stop.

“The images and stories are clear: children with horrendous burns, mortar wounds, and lost limbs. And hospitals are utterly overwhelmed to treat them. Yet the numbers keep rising. Israeli children being held hostage in Gaza must be safely and immediately reunited with their families and loved ones.”

Israel has blocked the access to water, food, and electricity in Gaza. But it claimed on Sunday that water had resumed to the south of the Palestinian enclave.

Earlier this week, Unicef warned that time was running out for children in Gaza.

“In every war, the ones who suffer the most are children. This is tragically true today,” Elder said.
