Former Hamas chief Abul al-Waleed Khalid Meshaal has discussed the situation in Israel and Palestine with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the party said in a statement on Friday.
In a telephonic conversation, the Hamas leader informed the JUI-F chief about the latest situation in the region amid the war between Israel and Hamas.
The Hama leader thanked Fazl for celebrating the Youm-e-Toofan Al-Aqsa on Friday, the JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghori said in a post on X, erstwhile Twitter.
The development comes after thousands of Palestinians fled to southern Gaza in search of refuge on Friday after Israel warned them to evacuate before an expected ground offensive against Hamas.
Israel has pounded Gaza in retaliation for the deadliest attack in Israel’s history.
Nearly 1,800 Gazans — including over 580 children — have been killed in waves of missile strikes on the densely populated enclave, accordin to the health ministry.
“We feel the pain of Palestinians,” Fazl was quoted as saying and vowed to not to leave the Palestinian brothers alone under any circumstances.
“Human rights organizations should take notice of Israel’s barbaric behavior,” he said.
