Citizens suffer from diseases as Lahore fights smog

The citizens of Lahore are suffering from eye and throat diseases as the city has been engulfed by dust and smog for the past few weeks.

The residents in Lahore complain that strict action is necessary on vehicles and bikes that emit smoke.

Lahore’s smog crisis occurs annually. Due to dust, the diseases of the eyes, throat, and lungs are increasing among citizens especially those who go to offices, schools, and colleges have been suffering badly from smog.

A court order has also been issued to minimize smog and pollution in the city. The traffic police have also started issuing challans, but citizens say that vehicles emitting smoke are still seen on the roads.

The district administration has filed an affidavit against the satellite thermal warningdetractors and a case against crop residue burning.

Today, Lahore ranks second in the global list of polluted cities with an air quality index of 184.
