Mohammad Rizwan has dedicated his match-winning century against Sri Lanka to the ‘brothers and sisters in Gaza’.
On Wednesday (October 11), he took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce it.
Gaza, is currently involved in a war against Israel. It began after militant group Hamas launched a devastating and coordinated assault on Israel last week.
The Israeli Defense Forces have stated that over 900 Israelis have been killed, and over 2,700 injured. On the other hand, the Palestinian Health Ministry, on Tuesday, said that 770 people have been killed in Gaza, and 4,000 injured.
“This was for our brothers and sisters in Gaza,” he wrote before adding: “Happy to contribute in the win. Credits to the whole team and especially Abdullah Shafique and Hassan Ali for making it easier. Extremely grateful to the people of Hyderabad for the amazing hospitality and support throughout.”
Pakistan will be in action next on Saturday (October 14) when they lock horns against arch-rivals and hosts India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Delhi.
