PML-N’s Nawaz Sharif is set to visit four countries including Saudi Arabia and China before his return to Pakistan on October 21.
Sharif is likely to leave London for Saudi Arabia on October 9 as he had told reporters at Stanhope House in London that it was his last day in office ahead of his return to Pakistan in late October.
Sharif will depart for Dubai on October 14 from Saudi Arabia and he is also expected to visit China and Qatar before flying back to the country.
The former prime minister will depart for Lahore from Dubai on October 21 at 7:00pm. His lawyers will apply for a protective bail before his arrival in the country. Sharif is scheduled to go to Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore shortly after landing at Lahore Airport, in case his bail is approved by the courts.
Meanwhile, his lawyers have submitted a report to the Lahore High Court that said that the former prime minister still has some residual symptoms of heart disease and will require regular follow-ups.
The report, authored by Professor Carlo Di Mario of Royal Brompton Hospital in London, was submitted in court by Sharif’s lawyer Amjad Pervaiz.
The report said that Sharif has undergone several procedures including bypass, angioplasties and ablations over the years for his heart condition.
It also says that persistent symptoms and the Covid-19 pandemic prevented Sharif’s return to Pakistan earlier.
