Afghanistan’s batting lineup tumbled in their first outing in the World Cup 2023 as they were all out on 156 runs against Bangladesh on Saturday.
After being put to bat first, Afghan batters failed to score big as wickets were falling in intervals owing to tight bowling from Bangladesh bowlers.
Opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz remained the top-getter for Afghanistan. He scored 47 runs off 62 balls, while Ibrahim Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai managed to hit innings of 22 runs each.
For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took three scalps each and Shoriful Islam sent two Afghan batters back to the pavilion.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first against Afghanistan at Dharamsala, India in the ODI World Cup 2023.
