PTI leader Usman Dar has blamed Imran Khan for the May 9 riots, saying that the attacks on military installations were ordered by the party chairman.
Dar, who went missing on September 9 and was later released, made these claims during an interview on a private TV channel show on Wednesday. He also announced that he was quitting PTI and leaving politics.
The former special adviser to Khan on youth affairs claimed that Khan used the human shield to avoid his arrest and issued instructions for attacking sensitive installations.
He charged the PTI chief with masterminding the May 9 riots, saying “these were planned at Zaman Park”.
Dar went on to add that the goal behind these attacks was to pressure the military and make Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir resign from his post.
The PTI leader also accused the former prime minister of running an anti-Pakistan narrative, saying that the Judicial Complex attack was the result of brainwashing.
He alleged that PTI’s long march in October last year was meant to stop the posting of General Asim Munir as the chief of army staff.
He blamed the PTI chairman for the present condition of the party which is in tatters.
