The decline in the value of the dollar against the rupee continued on Wednesday as it fell below the Rs285 mark for the first time since July 19 in the interbank foreign exchange market.
The greenback shed Rs1.04 against the rupee and was trading at Rs284.68 at the closing of the interbank, as against the closing of Rs285.72 the previous day.
Meanwhile, a positive session was recorded at the Pakistan Stock Exchange as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 323.03 points, or 0.69% to reach 47,079.83 levels at the closing of the trading session.
The KSE-30 Index gained 143.07 points or 0.88% to reach 16,344.73 levels at closing of the market on Wednesday.
