Lahore father kills four children by pushing them into canal

A father in Lahore has confessed to the police that he killed his four children by pushing them into the canal.

The man had earlier claimed that his children had been abducted by unknown people.

Muhammad Azeem, a resident of Panju village of Lahore, brought his children on a motorbike to the Lalyani canal on Monday. After reaching the spot he flung his children into the canal and then began a drama of their kidnapping after returning home.

The accused approached the police to file a complaint about the ‘abduction’ of his children and stated that 12-year-old Muhammad, 9-year-old Samia, 5-year-old Nabiha, and 2-years Ayesha went outside the home and did not return.

He requested the police to recover them as soon as possible.

Following the first information report, the police initiated an investigation which led them to the killer of the children who turned out to be their very own father.

During the course e of the investigation, Azeem confessed to his crime.

Police said Azeem was angry at the birth of a baby girl some days ago, it was the fifth child born to him.

His frustration led him to kill his children.

Police were searching the bodies of the victims in the Lalyani canal.

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed grief over the deaths.
