Former First Lady Bushra Bibi has filed a petition for the provision of better facilities to her husband Imran Khan in Adiala jail. She has added that the food being given to Khan could end up poisoning him.

Bushra Bibi filed the petition in Islamabad High Court through Latif Khosa where she said that medical officer should ensure the provision of healthy food to the former prime minister in jail.

The petition says that prisoners in he past have been given the facility of eating homecooked meals but it has not been extended to Imran Khan.

Bushra Bibi has further argued that her husband is not being provided other facilities that he is entitled to including being allowed to take walks and exercise in prison.

The petition calls the treatment being meted out to Khan in jail is a violation of articles 9 and 14 of the constitution and go against the IHC’s own order.

Khan, who is in jail in the cipher case registered under the Official Secrets Act, was recently moved from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail after an order by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq.
