With less than three weeks left before Nawaz Sharif’s scheduled return to the country, reports emerged on Monday that the former prime minister has booked his tickets for Pakistan.
Sources said that Nawaz will travel on Etihad Airways flight EY-243 which will land in Abu Dhabi on October 21.
After a brief stop, the flight will make its way to Pakistan and land at Allama Iqbal International airport in Lahore later in the day. He is expected to land around 6:25 pm.
Reports also added that Nawaz will be accompanied by his staff and advisors including Dr Adnan Khan and Irfan Siddiqui. Multiple party leaders are also expected to join the flight from Abu Dhabi.
The former prime minister is set to return to Pakistan after almost four years in exile, mainly spent in London. He left Pakistan after Lahore High Court allowed him to travel on medical grounds.
