The rupee recorded gains in the first trading session of the month as it gained Rs1.03 against the dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market on Monday.
The greenback was trading at Rs286.7 at the early trade in the interbank from the closing of Rs287.74 on Thursday, September 28. The currency market remained closed on September 29 on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi.
The foreign currency was trading at Rs287 after declining by Re1 in the open market on Monday.
Meanwhile, the trading in the Pakistan Stock Exchange opened on a positive note as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 395.57 points or 0.86%, and was trading at 46,628.16 levels during the intraday trading.
The KSE-30 Index gained 166.63 points, 1.04%, and was trading at 16,155.84 levels.
