Interior minister blames India for terror attacks in Balochistan

The Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), was behind the recent terror attacks in Balochistan, caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti on Saturday.

“Those playing the role of a facilitator, whoever is doing this — be it anyone, whatever you may call it — they all are the same for us, all have the same origins, all are being handled from one place, RAW is behind all them,” he told reporters in Quetta while India’s intelligence agency.

He was in the provincial capital a day after a suicide blast rocked the province as the death toll from the Mastung blast rose to 59.

Wasim Baig, the Civil Hospital spokesperson, said seven more people had died in hospital – six in Civil Hospital and one at the BMC –since Friday, increasing the death toll.

The Counter Terrorism Department has registered the first information report of the Mastung suicide blast.

The minister claimed that all incidents that took place before the Mastung blast were unearthed, adding that RAW’s involvement was behind all those attacks. He did not provide any proof or evidence to back his claims.

No terrorist group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. The outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan denied its involvement.

The caretaker provincial government announced three days of mourning in the wake of the attack.

“Whether it is Daesh or TTP or anyone else… anyone committing violence under any banner… violence will only be exercised by the state,” Bugti said, adding that the state writ would be maintained.
