JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the PTI should not be in politics as he blamed the former ruling party for the country’s economic issues.
“PTI’s ideas and agenda are against Pakistan,” he told reporters in Faisalabad on Saturday. “No one will invest in the country amid political instability.”
Fazl has been wary of the PTI for a long time, blaming his rival for the economic and security issues in the country. He led the multi-party confab against the Imran Khan government in 2022. Khan was ousted from the prime minister’s office in April 2022.
In the past, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has slammed the JUI-F chief for seeking relief in diesel. But the religio-political party has denied such accusations and accused Khan of being part of an “international lobby” to destabilise Pakistan.
Fazl was of the view that the administrative matters in the erstwhile tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were not enough.
The JUI-F chief lamented that the people of former Federal Administered Tribal Areas were kept away from development.
While speaking about the return of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan, he said that his party welcomed the homecoming of the former prime minister.
Nawaz is set to return to Pakistan on October 21. The party has announced that the former prime minister would be given a rousing welcome in Lahore.
He added that Nawaz has the right to return and do politics. “We have no contacts related to Nawaz’s return to the country. He might be returning with some plan,” said Fazl.
