A truth and reconciliation commission is the way forward for getting Pakistan out of the current conditions, PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira.
“Instead of mud-slinging each other, we need to hold dialogues because it is the only way forward. We even wanted to hold dialogue with Imran Khan before May 9,” he told Asma Shirazi on Faisla Aap Ka.
Responding to a question regarding PPP’s demands for timely elections, he said that the party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has not backed down from his position.
Kaira said that PPP has concerns over the delays in holding the elections. “We have complaints from our allies for their attitude, and the Election Commission for not giving a date for holding the elections,” Kaira added.

PML-N’s Khurram Dastgir said that the worsening condition of the country was a result of political engineering by the people whose names Nawaz Sharif has stated recently.
“Nawaz Sharif is the only leader who brought a former military dictator before the court. For the last nine years, we are facing the consequences of that action,” Dastgir stated.
Talking about the formation of a new party by former PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, he said that questions would arise over why he could not deliver when he was in another party and the prime minister.
“They face a serious challenge to answer the question about what stopped them from better governance while they were in power,” he added.
