KP women resilient despite prolonged fight against terrorism, says COAS Munir

Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday said that women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have proven their resilience despite facing multi-faceted challenges due to the prolonged fight against terrorism.

COAS Munir, while addressing ‘KPK Women Symposium – 2023’ in Peshawar, urged women to actively participate in advancing KP’s development, including the newly merged tribal districts, Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement.

During his visit, he held dialogue with the women of the province and underscored the historical significance of women’s contributions to Pakistan’s progress.

The COAS also participated in a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee, where he was accompanied by caretaker Chief Minister of KP Muhammad Azam Khan.

The meeting provided a comprehensive overview of the region’s security situation, with a focus on initiatives against smuggling, hoarding, and drug trafficking.

During the meeting, attendees reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.

COAS Munir reiterated the importance of collaborative efforts for the peace and prosperity of the country, pledging the Pakistan Army’s continued role in ensuring stability in KP.
