Audit report reveals irregularities of Rs20 million in Ayub Medical Complex

The director general of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Audit has found irregularities worth Rs20 million in several financial dealings of the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad.

The audit report for the fiscal year 2021-22 held the former board of government and hospital administration responsible for financial irregularities worth millions. The DG suggested the authorities take action against those involved in the misappropriations and recover the losses.

The report stated that the employees were paid higher housing subsidies than the government stipulated limit, which resulted in losses of Rs21 million to the national exchequer.

The exchequer suffered losses to the tune of Rs17 million owing to employees residing in rented apartments receiving housing subsidies against the law.

The report found that the public treasury had to suffer a loss of Rs17 million due to the misappropriation in the purchase of MRI and X-ray machines, while the revenue of around Rs25 million has not been paid to the national exchequer.

Director of Ayub Medical Complex Doctor Athar Lodhi said that the former board of governors and hospital administration were responsible for the embezzlements worth millions and an action will be initiated against all involved.
