Chinese Vice President Han Zheng has said that Pakistan occupies a special position in its neighbourhood diplomacy and that China would continue its efforts to safeguard Pakistan’s interests and economic development.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar and Zheng met at the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly Summit in New York where the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relationship including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and economic and financial cooperation.
Kakar appreciated China’s unflinching support of Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and socio-economic development.
He said that China’s firm opposition to holding any G20 meeting in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir reflected its stance on upholding international law and UN resolutions.
The Chinese vice president said that the friendship between the two countries is unique and has withstood the vicissitude of time due to deep fraternal ties between the peoples of the two nations.
