Teenage boy beaten by cleric suffers brain hemorrhage

A 13-year-old boy allegedly suffered a brain hemorrhage after being severely beaten by a cleric on Thursday. The boy is in critical condition in a hospital, according to doctors.

Anas, 13, had taken a day off from the madrasa due to rain two days ago. On the day when he returned, he was brutally beaten by the madrassa’s cleric. The cleric forced him to lie down on the floor and used a wooden stick to beat him, which left the victim unconscious.

Following the beating, instead of immediately getting the boy medical help, the cleric attempted to revive him using home remedies.

Anas’s family became concerned when he did not return home at the expected time in the evening. The family learned about the incident when they arrived at the madrasa and found the boy lying unconscious.

A first information report (FIR) has been registered by the police on a complaint of Anas’s grandfather, Sabir Butt.

The FIR states that the victim was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a brain hemorrhage. He is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.

After registering the FIR, the police arrested cleric Shoaib and two of his colleagues. The matter is under investigation by the police.
