Cases against Imran Khan politically motivated, says party leader

Senior lawyer and PTI leader Hamid Khan has said that the cases against PTI Chief Imran Khan were politically motivated as hundreds of cases were filed against him in 16 months.

“Other parties seem to be the favourites of the establishment. Their leaders have the freedom to do whatever they want. They are not facing any accountability while the entire burden is on the PTI chief,” he told Asma Shirazi on Faisla Aap Ka.

Khan was of the view that the PTI chairman is being victimised from all fronts and strategies are being made to keep the former prime minister in jail for a longer period.

All actions are being taken to keep PTI and its chief out of the upcoming general elections in the country while Khan has also been jailed, he said.

“When I met him in jail, he [Imran Khan] was in good spirit and determined despite facing injustice in the jail during the initial days of his imprisonment,” he added.

He refuted the claims that Justice (retd) Umar Ata Bandial favoured the PTI, saying that the former chief justice had tried to obey the law and the constitution.

“If he [Bandial] ordered to hold Punjab and KP election, it was not related to any party, it was about the constitution,” Khan stated.
