The rupee strengthened in the interbank foreign exchange market as it gained Rs1.02 against the dollar on Wednesday.
The greenback was trading at Rs293.88 at the closing of the interbank market, as against the closing of Rs294.9 the previous day.
In the open market, the foreign currency was available at Rs296 on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, lackluster activity was recorded at the Pakistan Stock Exchange as the benchmark KSE-100 Index shed 20.89 points, or 0.05%, and settled at 45,889.57 levels.
Similarly, the KSE-30 Index shed 51.59 points, or 0.32% to reach 16,086.97 levels at the closing of the trading on Wednesday.
