Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday after spending a month abroad.
Shehbaz had flown to London right after the Pakistan Democratic Movement-led government had ended. He met his elder brother, Nawaz, in London and participated in multiple party meetings.
It was Shehbaz who announced in London that Nawaz would return to Pakistan on October 21.
Nawaz has been in exile since 2019, when the Lahore High Court allowed him to travel abroad on medical grounds.
Multiple party leaders, including Khawaja Asif, have voiced the need for higher party leadership to return to Pakistan as the local leadership is increasingly under pressure from constituents.
