The Election Commission of Pakistan has created a new monitoring control system to be used in the next general election that it hopes will improve on how data was collected and compiled in the previous election.
Officials said that there was a massive difference between how things stood in 2018 and 2018 and said that lessons had been learnt from what had happened with the Result Transmission System (RTS) in 2018.
In a briefing on Monday, ECP Secretary Umar Hameed that the new system had been created as per the vision of the chief election commissioner.
He added that monitoring takes place both before and after and election. He said that system needs improvement and data analysts will be hired for the purpose as well.
ECP Special Secretary Asim Hussain said that data comes in from multiple levels on election day and the system will be used to give feedback and make decisions based on the data.
The project’s director said that the system would work around the clock and would connect to control room’s on provincial and district level as well.
Officials added that the ECP would not rely on one system and results will be compiled thruogh multiple means.
