Deputy Chairman of National Accountability Bureau Zahir Shah has resigned from his post, sources said on Monday.
Shah has sent his resignation letter to the NAB chairman, in which he stated personal engagements as the reason for his stepping down from the post, they added.
This is the second resignation of the Bureau’s top officials as the prosecutor general had resigned from his post two days earlier.
On September 9, NAB Prosecutor General Justice (Retd) Syed Asghar Haider tendered his resignation due to personal reasons.
It is pertinent to mention that the investigation of the 190 million pound scandal was to be filed this month and without the approval of the prosecutor general, NAB cannot file a reference in the court.
The meeting of the Executive Board and the approval of the cases also went into a deadlock after Haider quit.
