Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan hits the ball out of the park

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film Jawan has clocked in the highest single-day collection ever in India, according to media reports. The film collected 144.22 Indian crore rupees, including 68.72 crores in India, in a single day.

Shah Rukh, who is often referred to by his initials SRK, has been on the rise since the release of the movie after getting excellent reviews and massive response from the fans.

He has been seen replying to fans and movie stars on X, formerly known as Twitter, on the success of his movie. Some of the critics have praised Shah Rukh, who is also known as ‘King Khan’ by his fans, for his strategy to engage with fans that promoted his film.

It merits here to mention that this is so far his second release in 2023 after Pathaan which also set box office records. His other anticipated movie with ace director Rajkumar Hirani Dunki is expected to be released this year in December.

An Indian critic Taran Adarsh gave 4.5 stars to Jawan.

“Jawan is loaded with aces… Razor-sharp screenplay, attention-grabbing episodes, splendid action pieces, larger-than-life frames, peppy soundtrack, also the pace and energy never dips… However, it’s the clash of the gladiators - SRK and Vijay Sethupathi - that’s the driving force of Jawan,” he wrote on X.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Jawan has entered the Rs200 crore club in just three days. This has never happened before as even Pathaan took four days to reach there while Gadar 2 took five days, said the media.

“Stars don’t shine because they want to be seen. They shine because they are stars. A superstar is someone who uses their light to illuminate the world, leaving a trail of inspiration for others to follow. Shah Rukh Khan is a living embodiment of that,” said filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
