Four members of a family were gunned down over a property dispute on Wednesday in Jhelum. The suspects allegedly relatives of the victims, successfully managed to escape.
The incident happened in Langarpur, an area of Jhelum, Punjab, where unknown assailants shot and killed four members of a family, including a husband, wife, and two sisters-in-law while they were sleeping in their home.
Police said that the victim, named Nouman, had a dispute with his relatives over a two-marla piece of property, and this dispute led to their killings.
It added that police came to know from sources that one woman from the deceased had filed a complaint against some individuals alleging rape.
The District Police Officer stated that teams have been formed to apprehend the suspects, who will soon be in police custody.
However, the police cordoned off the area after the incident and the bodies of the victims were shifted to the civil hospital Jehlum for autopsy.
