Pakistan won by seven wickets with more than ten overs to spare in their match against Bangladesh in the Super Fours round at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Wednesday.
Imam ul Haq and Mohammad Rizwan scored fifties as Pakistan easily chased the 194 target in the 40th over.
Pakistan were set a target of 194 after the Bangladesh batting line-up was sent back to the pavilion in the 39th over as Haris Rauf claimed four wickets while Naseem Shah got three scalps.
Earlier, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi struck early as Bangladesh opted to bat first after winning the toss.
Naseem dismissed Mehidy Hasan Mirzy before Shaheen removed Litton Das.
The Super Four Stage includes Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh after Afghanistan and Nepal were eliminated.
Pakistan beat Nepal by 238 runs in its first match against Nepal while the second match against India ended without a result due to rain.
Bangladesh lost its first fixture to Sri Lanka by 5 wickets but beat Afghanistan in the next by 89 runs to qualify for the next stage.
Pakistan and Bangladesh last met in the ODI World Cup in 2019 at Lord’s. Pakistan won the match by 94 runs with Shaheen Afridi becoming the youngest player to take a 5-wicket haul at a world up. His 6.35 earned him a Man of the Match award.
