Nepali singer Trishala amused by rising fan following in Pakistan

Nepali singer Trishala Gurung expressed gratitude to her Pakistani fans, whose numbers have been constantly increasing since her performance at the Asia Cup inaugural ceremony.

When she came to the stage, her dress captured the attention of the audience. She was wearing a white embroidered Saari which was specially crafted for the performance.

Trishala started her performance in the Nepali language, winning hearts and triggering her fan graph to grow instantly.

Trishala told BBC News that her fan following increased regularly since the ceremony and most of the new followers were Pakistanis.

Not only was Trishala amused by Pakistanis, but the country also grabbed her attention. She couldn’t stop herself from talking about Pakistan’s hospitality, praising Pakistan’s food, culture and even language which she terms as ‘‘a bucket of good words.’’

However, before her performance, Trishala had to navigate through a difficult terrain in the music industry.

She had received advance payment for an event in Nepal when she was offered the opportunity to perform at the opening ceremony in Pakistan.

With the support of the event’s management, she came to Pakistan and gave her voice to the inaugural ceremony of the Asia Cup.

Trishala found herself in a bind when she came to know that she couldn’t perform a national song in a live broadcast due to a policy followed by the broadcasting company.

“It felt like falling from the highest peak,” she said. The matter was resolved after Star Sport gave her conditional permission.

Trishala, a successful singer, is a doctor by profession.

She performed at the inaugural ceremony of the Asia Cricket Cup with Pakistani star Aima Baig.
