Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch on Friday said that the Indian government’s decision to hold the Miss World beauty contest in Srinagar of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir cannot justify the occupation of the region.
Addressing a weekly briefing in Islamabad on Friday, she said that Pakistan has never accepted India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reacting to Indian foreign minister Jai Shankar’s statement, Baloch said that the language of the Indian FM against Pakistan is against diplomatic etiquette. There is no cure for the anti-Pakistan disease, she added.
Baloch paid rich tributes to late Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani on his second death anniversary. He was the real voice and face of Kashmiris, she said, adding that the Indian army snatched the body of Gilani from his family and buried him quietly.
The spokesperson demanded the Indian government to give access to Gilani’s family to his burial site.
Baloch also highlighted the recent incident in which a Muslim school boy was beaten up by his classmate repeatedly on the order of his teacher in India. She said that the Indian government is responsible for the security of Muslims.
Baloch said that Pakistan has a very important role in the United Nations peace mission. The caretaker foreign minister spoke to the foreign ministers and foreign missions of different countries and discussed bilateral issues.
The spokesperson also spoke about the Asia Cup match between Pakistan and India. She showed excitement for the high-voltage match saying that Pakistan’s cricket team consists of the best players.
