Rahul Gandhi blames BJP’s ‘hatred politics’ for student abuse in UP school

Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandi has condemned the action of a teacher who asked her students to beat their Muslim classmate in a school in Uttar Pradesh. He blamed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s ’hatred politics’ for the student abuse which was reported via video that went viral on social media.

Gandhi posted on X, formally known as Twitter: “Sowing the poison of discrimination in the minds of innocent children, turning a holy place like school into a marketplace of hatred – nothing worse a teacher can do for the country.”

He also blamed Indian PM Narendra Modi’s party for spreading “hate and discrimination” in the country.

The viral video showed a Muslim school boy being subjected to constant beating after the class teacher orders.

“This is the same kerosene spread by the BJP which has set every corner of India on fire,” Gandhi said.

Indian lawmaker Asaduddin Owaisi said that the father of the child has withdrawn his kid from school and given in writing that he doesn’t want to pursue the matter because “he knows he won’t get justice and instead it might vitiate the atmosphere”.

Indian journalist Supriya Shrinate also criticised the violence. “I am feeling more angry than sad,” she wrote in her social media post.

She wondered how far has the hatred and poison of bigotry spread.

General Secretary of the Indian National Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said: “The choice is clear. Hate is the biggest enemy of progress.”

Indian actor Simi Garewal demanded that the teacher should be arrested.
