The interim cabinet has formed a committee for the revival of the economy, Information Minister Murtaza Solangi announced the decision on Friday.
“Members from ministries of finance, planning, and the SIFC would be part of the committee,” he said at his maiden press conference in Islamabad. “This committee will oversee the revival of the economy.”
Solangi highlighted that the country has to abide by the conditions agreed in the deal with the International Monetary Fund.
Pakistan sign a last-minute deal with the international money lender in June, paving the way for the executive board which approved the $3 billion Stand-by Arrangement for nine months.
The petrol price was increased by nearly Rs18 earlier this week. The new price of petrol has now reached Rs290.45.
In the press conference, Solangi also shared the decisions made by the cabinet. Interim PM Anwaarul Haq Kakar has asked the caretaker cabinet to cut expenses.
