90’s supermodels recreate Vogue cover

The Vogue magazine brought by the old memories of the fashion world by recreating a three decades old supermodels image on its cover page, reported The Guardian.

Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, and Cindy Crawford were photographed together by Peter Lindberg for the cover of the January 1990 edition of Vogue.

The Image was re-created after 33 years for September magazine with the cover line: “The Greatest of All Time”. But it was missing Tatjana Patitz, who died earlier this year.

In the age of fifties, these women will also appear in a documentary, The Super Models, on Apple TV in September, re-evaluating the late 1980s and early 90’s when they started modelling.

Evangelista in reaction to the video said: “It was insane. We are not Beatles.”

Campbell said: “I was made to feel ashamed of my recovery. It wasn’t that I was in hiding, but this is something you talk about when we are ready.”

She spoke about racism in an interview with Vogue. “Why it was that I was doing the same job as my colleagues and had to take less money?” she asked. “Why was I booked for the shows but not the ads? I was not close-mouthed.”

The Vogue covers were styled by Edward Enninful. Currently editor-in-chief of British Vogue said “For such a hallowed moment, my esteemed co-conspirator Anna wintour-editor-in-chief of America Vogue and Conde Nast’s chief content officer and I decided there was only one thing or it. We had put the legendary quarter simultaneously on the cover of both British and American Vogue.”
