An alleged incident of sexual assault has been reported in Dera Ghazi Khan’s Ghazi University. The purported case came to light after a video of the alleged victim was uploaded on X, formerly known as Twitter, by a user whose profile shows he is a journalist from Battagram.
“I will not further endure this and torch myself in the university if the vice chancellor did not take any action,” the victim said in a video uploaded on Monday. “I cannot endure this as the vice chancellor will be responsible for this.”
The victim introduced herself as Sana, a student of BS Physics, in the video which has so far garnered more than 2,000 views on the social media platform. She accused two staff members of harassment.
Sana claimed that the two teachers were blackmailing her and her younger sister. They have purportedly warned her against telling anything to two other teachers or department heads.
The police contacted the female student after the incident.

Two teachers of the Physics Department have been named in the complaint registered at the Gadai Police Station, DPO Ahsan Afzal told a private news channel. He claimed that the incident took place in May.
Meanwhile, the university spokesperson has claimed that the video statement that went viral on social media was an old matter. The spokesperson added both the accused have been suspended as the investigation was under way after the complaint of the affected female student.
When Aaj News reached out to the police, they claimed that no case was registered. But they added that the university was taking departmental action on the matter
The incident comes amid the Bahawalpur university scandal which has shocked the nation.
Earlier this month, interim Punjab chief minister Mohsin Naqvi announced his decision to form a judicial commission for investigation into the Bahawalpur university scandal.
The decision had come after National Food Security and Research Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema asked the interim Punjab CM to conduct a judicial inquiry into the incident.
