FIA summons Imran’s lawyer to investigate judge’s Facebook posts

The Federal Investigation Agency’s cyber crime cell has summoned advocate Naeem Haider Panjutha on August 8.

Panjutha is one of Imran Khan’s lawyers and has been summoned in a case regarding Judge Humayun Dilawar’s Facebook posts.

Judge Dilawar had sentenced Imran Khan to three years in prison in the Toshakhana case on August 5, following which the PTI chief was arrested from his Lahore residence.

During the trial, Imran’s lawyers had presented the Facebook posts against the former prime minister as evidence of the judeg’s bias. They had argued that he should hear the Toshakhana case,

The matter had also been raised in the Islamabad High Court when Imran’s lawyers appealed to be given the right of defence.

The judge for his part had denied making the Facebook posts.

Imran’s lawyer had argued hat it was upto the judge to send the posts through a judicial inquiry, but it was appropriate if the court did not continue to hear the case.

The judge has already left Pakistan after sentencing Imran.
